Civil litigation
Civil litigation is a process for resolving public and private legal
disputes through negotiation or the courts. For people who have never been in court
the entire process can seem daunting and confusing. We have years of experience of
dealing with civil disputes, ranging from property, insolvency, commercial and employment
disputes to consumer matters.
Commercial litigation
Commercial litigation involves the resolution of disputes arising
in the corporate and commercial sectors, such as asset and venture capital projects,
banking transactions, civil fraud, corporate governance, European Union/competition,
financial services regulation, mergers and acquisitions, share capital reorganisations
and professional negligence.
Alternative dispute resolution
Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) refers to any means of settling disputes outside the courtroom. A common example is mediation, which offers parties involved in civil and commercial disputes a sensible and practical alternative to the conventional litigation route. Tanner & Taylor have experience in the various forms of ADR and can advise you on the implications of these as opposed to litigation through the courts.

Judy Talbot is a qualified Licensed Paralegal and has held a Fellowship Award Diploma since 1998. She has worked within the Tanner and Taylor Civil Litigation Department since September 1999.
Judy is a specialist in the areas of debt enforcement, personal injury and liquor licensing. She is considered a regional expert in the area of liquor licensing and will handle client work right the way through to the Magistrates Courts and appeals.
She also possesses substantial experience in employment and general litigation work,
including building and consumer disputes.
